KnotNow uses weather and marine data from trusted sources to build wind, tide, and conditions forecasts for watersports spots across the UK and Ireland.
Wind and weather
Wind speed and direction, temperature, and precipitation are derived from numerical weather models and observations. Conditions can change quickly — always check on the day and use your judgment.
Tides
Tide times and heights are based on official tidal predictions for the nearest primary station. Local bathymetry and weather can affect actual water levels at each spot.
Water quality
Where available, sewage overflow and discharge alerts use live data from UK water company feeds. Not every spot has coverage — check the water-quality panel on your forecast page.
