How to Record a Session

Enable Health & GPS
Allow Health and Location permissions when prompted so the app can track your workout and capture your GPS path.
Start & Sail

On-Watch Displays
Stay focused on the water with live metrics:
- Speed: Current and max speed for your session
- Distance: Total distance sailed

- Bearing: Live heading in degrees and cardinal directions
- Units: Switch effortlessly between knots/NM, km/h/km, or mph/mi
Post-Session Insights
Hit Save on your Watch — the session transfers to the KnotNow iPhone app automatically. When you are signed in and online, it uploads the same way as a phone recording (no GPX export). Then open KnotNow on mobile or web for VMG analysis, polar charts, tack and gybe breakdowns, and your complete logbook.
Already record with Strava? Connect Strava in KnotNow — new wind, foil, and sail activities import when you open Sessions.
