If you followed the action at the Kernow Foil Classic, you already know the energy on the water was off the charts. From fast lines down the wave face to technical foil pockets, the event showcased serious riding across four distinct disciplines: Wing, Parawing, Foil Assist, and Prone.

It was a celebration of where foiling sits today — technical riding, full-send moments, and an inclusive beach atmosphere.

More than just competition: built for the whole community

While the riding was incredible to watch, the real magic of the Kernow Foil Classic goes way beyond the scores. Organisers Chris Burke and his team have built something rare: a space where the best foil riders in the world share the beach, the lineup, and a post-session chat with amateurs who might have only picked up a wing a few months ago.

Foiling is still young and personal enough that you can watch world-class riders drop into waves in the afternoon, and end up talking setup with them on the beach later — a rare opportunity.

Freeriders, spectators, and full days on the water

The heart of the KFC is simply creating a platform for people to hang out and ride.

The event belongs to the whole community. The competition is just one part of the picture; the shared stoke and passion for being on the water are what truly define the week.

Four disciplines, one action-packed stage

Four disciplines — great conditions this week for all:

  • Wing foiling. Fast lines, powered turns, and high-scoring wave rides.
  • Parawing. Agility, speed, and a small setup footprint — the newest sensation in wind sports.
  • Foil assist. Assist setups for more waves and longer rides on the ocean.
  • Prone foiling. Reading the water, efficient pumping, and deep-pocket carving.

Finn Spencer’s multi-discipline sweep

On the competitive side, the standout performance belonged to Finn Spencer, who put on a masterclass across all four categories:

  • Results. Three firsts and a second (1, 1, 1, 2) across Wing, Parawing, Foil Assist, and Prone.
  • The decider. He sealed the Wing Foil win with a 9.5 wave right at the end of the heat.

It was a complete display of modern foil riding — from powered turns to technical prone and assist lines.

Pure atmosphere on the water

Massive respect to Chris Burke, the @kernowfoilclassic team, and everyone behind the scenes. The turnout, the riding, and the inclusive vibe showed how strong and connected the foil community is right now.
