The community is centred around the active Siblyback Lake Activity Centre, which is a hub for RYA training.

The advantage of Siblyback is the safety; it is an enclosed environment with excellent safety cover, making it the perfect place for beginners to gain confidence. The negative is that it can be very cold due to its elevation, and the wind can be gusty in a Northerly direction. Ideal Wind: SW, W (Blowing cleanly over the moor) Viable Wind: ALL (Inland nature allows for any direction)
