Dinas Dinlle Winging Guide

Winging, Sailing & Windsurfing Forecast

Loading forecast data...

a popular and expansive beach on the Menai Strait's southern entrance.

It is a favorite for the North Wales winging and windsurfing community due to its reliability and the clean, unobstructed wind it receives from the Irish Sea. The beach is a mix of pebbles and sand, offering a "bump and jump" playground that works exceptionally well in prevailing South-Westerlies. One of the main benefits is the depth of the water; for wing foilers, it gets deep relatively quickly compared to the shallower lagoons of Anglesey, meaning less wading with long masts. The sailing and windsurfing vibe is energetic, and the views across to the mountains of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula are unmatched. A potential negative is the "shore dump" at high tide, which can be tricky on the steep pebble bank if a large swell is running. Ideal Wind: SW, W (Clean cross-onshore wind) Viable Wind: S, SSW, SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW
