Daymer Bay Winging Guide

Winging, Sailing & Windsurfing Forecast

Loading forecast data...

arguably one of the most versatile and scenic spots in the UK.

Situated halfway up the Camel Estuary, it offers a unique combination of flat-water blasting at low tide and high-quality waves as the tide fills in. Because it is sheltered by the "Doom Bar" sandbank, it provides a safer alternative to the heavy Atlantic swells found at nearby Polzeath, making it a "go-to" for intermediates looking to progress into wave riding. The spot is famous for its clean wind and incredible views across to Padstow. For wingfoilers, it is a dream location; the water is deep enough for a foil even at low tide in the main channel, and the "Doom Bar" acts as a natural wave generator that provides long, mellow swells perfect for foil-surfing without the intimidation of a breaking reef.
